About
The House
After a day of driving or exploring the local area, whether it be on foot or by bike or wine tasting at the local vineyards, You’ll need a comfortable place to sleep.
Nestled down a quiet side street in the heart of the medieval village of Montcuq, Le Coucou is one of the few timber framed houses with parts dating back to the 15th century. Le Coucou is very much a home and offers three bedrooms each tastefully decorated and with an en-suite or private bathroom and soft natural linen bedding. Fresh flowers and neutral tones give each room a peaceful charm and a home away from home feel.
Discover the pretty courtyard garden - enjoy a drink on arrival and breakfast in the morning sunshine. In the winter months the large stone fireplace in the lounge creates a cosy atmosphere, this is also where breakfast is served on colder days. During these months traditional table d’hotes is available upon request.
Your Host
After working in both travel and hospitality and most recently running a tearoom on the east coast of England for over a decade, I decided it was time for a new challenge and the perfect opportunity to combine my two loves - food and travel.
Along with my little rescue dog Leo, we set off in a VW camper van and toured around France to find a place to call home and turn my dream into reality.
In summer 2022 we discovered the village of Montcuq and made the move permanent the following November where I have been preparing to open the doors of 4 Rue Droite to welcome visitors. The village has very quickly become my home. I look forward to welcoming and sharing both my home and a very special part of rural France with you.
